Cookie Dough Truffles

I live dangerously.  I laugh in the face of warnings. I throw caution to the wind.
You know those warnings on the Nestle Tollhouse package? The "do not consume raw cookie dough" warnings.  Challenge Excepted. I eat raw cookie dough like it's going out of style.
One reason why I haven't perfected my chocolate chip cookies is because the dough never last long enough to physically make it to the oven.
Yeah- it's a problem.

Solution- make "dough" for the sole reason of never ever baking them.  However, we'll make Mr. Tollhouse and the Dept of Health happy and leave out the eggs.  Roll into little balls and drizzle with what else but more chocolate.

It's basically the cat's pajamas.

Adapted from this recipe

What You'll Need:
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 1 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1-3 Tbsp Milk
  • Mini Chocolate Chips
What To Do:
  1. Cream together butter and sugar. Add in vanilla and then slowly incorporate flour.  Then add milk, a little at a time until a consistency that will stay together when formed into balls.  Mix in cup of mini chips.
  2. Form into balls and place on a parchment lined cookie sheet.  Chill for about 30 minutes.  When ready, melt remaining chocolate and drizzle over truffle bites.  Let sit in fridge overnight (I found them MUCH better after they sat and then warmed up a little the next day....maybe I'm just weird...)

  1. I too live on the wild side and eat raw cookie dough, but this looks like a safer and still tasty alternative! I've seen other recipes for specifically egg-less cookie dough that uses sweetened condensed milk to help keep it moist. I suppose that's an option too.

  2. That would work great too! Might even be able to cut back a little bit on the sugar as well. I'll have to give it a whirl.
